Book Review: Confessions of a Crispy Mom

I really enjoyed Confessions of a Crispy Mom(affiliate link). The interesting prologue drew me into the story, and I can relate well to the main character, Delia, and how overwhelming motherhood can feel.

The author’s sense of humor was a big part of the story, and I often pictured the events in my mind as I would my favorite sit-com. It’s also clear the author knows the trenches of motherhood well and the feelings that go along with it, so the emotions of motherhood pour out of this book.

This quote from the story was so real to me.

“I mean, I was right there. Right there in their lives, and yet I wasn’t.”

It reminds me how busy we are as mothers and how we can spend all day with our children and never truly connect with them because we have so many things to do.

The letters Delia received bring to mind this quote from the Bible in Titus 2 where the older women are encouraged,

“to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.”

Powerful truth!

As I read this book my emotions went up and down with Delia. I often found myself wanting to put the book down and just feel those emotions with her. As she waited to read each letter I found myself wanting to wait a bit, too. However, because I was so invested in the story I just couldn’t wait long and often found myself thinking about the story.

This book is for every mom. It’s funny, encouraging, and the characters felt very real. You will laugh and possibly cry. And you will want to connect with your children and treasure each and every moment.

Don’t wait. Grab your copy today on Amazon- Confessions of a Crispy Mom.

I received this book at no cost from the author, Laura Frances, in exchange for my honest review.
