I Lay It Down

In Genesis 21:6-7,

“Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.” And she added, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.””

Oh Lord, you have brought me laughter too. May I enjoy the sweet children you’ve given me.

I pray to enjoy them because so often I feel like a slave in my home. Cooking, cleaning, eating last…..but I’m reminded that in the Kingdom of Heaven,

““So the last will be first, and the first will be last.””

And,

“just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”” Matthew 20:16 and 28 NIV

Oh Lord, I lay it down- this life, my life- a life I cling to and try to control. But I trust as I lay it down for you, that you will use me and it will matter!
